About the Role
Project Engineer Description/Job Summary
The Project Engineer is responsible for coordination of preservation/restoration efforts and administrative duties in support of the Project Manager (PM).
The Project Engineer supports the PM in management the flow of information between the field, office, management, and the customer to assure that components and systems are incorporated in accordance with the schedule.
The Project Engineer supports the PM providing details for documents with comprehensive information is timely.
Responsibilities/Duties
Project Execution
Submits detailed procedures for the review, coordination, approval, and distribution of submittals, shop drawings, samples, etc.
to the Project Manager.
Maintains project files, plans, specifications, changes, clarifications, and as-built documents.
Expedites subcontractor proposals.
Schedule Management
Works with PM and Superintendent on developing, monitoring, and updating project schedule.
Supports the monitoring of the subcontractor schedule adherence.
Communication
Supports the PM in establishing and maintaining relationships with Owner’s representative, design professionals, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Assists the PM in managing and maintaining project specific information systems.
Assists the PM in the coordination of site activities with office activities.
Assists PM in communication of schedule revisions to all parties, as appropriate.
What You’ll Bring
Educational Background
Degree in construction management, architecture, engineer or other related major preferred.
Equivalent experience is also welcome.
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
1+ years of construction experience (preferred)
Necessary Knowledge and Skills
Superior interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to problem solve, effectively prioritize, and drive processes
Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-phase project environment with shifting priorities
Ability to identify and implement more efficient practices
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Ability to read architectural/engineering drawings and specifications
Software Knowledge and Skills
Proficiency in using Procore
Proficiency in using Microsoft 365 – Outlook, Work, Excel, Project and other web-based tools and systems
Proficiency in using AutoCAD or equivalent drafting software is a plus
