State Highway Administration’s (SHA) District 2 is currently recruiting for a Transportation Engineering Technician III in Kent County.
This position is open to anyone who meets the minimum qualifications listed below.
The resulting list of eligible candidates will be used to fill this vacancy and may be used to fill future vacancies within SHA.
Nature of Work: The Transportation Engineering Technician III position is in the Maintenance Division and will act as a liaison between the District Operations Engineer and highway maintenance contractors.
This position performs assignments in both the office and in the field.
This position will also establish priorities for allocating maintenance contracts, procedures, and policies.
This position reports directly to the Transportation Engineer for guidance regarding SHA policies for contracts, quality, and budgets.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Graduation from a standard high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Three (3) years of experience in technical engineering related work in the areas of design, traffic, construction, materials testing, engineering surveys, maintenance, or planning.
Notes:
1.
Applicants may substitute education in a civil engineering curriculum at an accredited college or university at the rate of 30 semester credit hours for each year of the required experience.
2.
Applicants who possess an associate degree in engineering, construction management or surveying or surveying technology from an accredited community college, college or university are considered to have met two years of the required experience.
Licenses & Certifications
Candidate must possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the state of Maryland.
