- Experience with industrial controls in critical environment (data center, pharmaceutical, manufacturing, oil & gas, petrochemical, laboratory, power, water etc.
).
- A two (2) years of experience in engineering project management, coordination with multiple teams or vendors to meet project requirements.
As part of the global controls team, you will work with highly motivated engineers, experts and innovators in the data center industry.
You will be responsible for innovating, deploying and optimizing the automation systems within the data centers.
Automation systems consist of building management system (BMS) and electrical power monitoring system (EPMS).
Using Amazon leadership principles, you will develop new processes and standards while innovating in the controls space.

As a Controls Deployment Engineer you will: • Manage scope, and schedule of BMS and EPMS vendors during construction of AWS data centers.
• Develop scope of work for site improvement projects.
• Manage multiple stakeholder deliverables, requirements and navigate complex situations.
• Review controls sequence of operation and provide feedback to design.
• Financially manage BMS and EPMS construction contracts and assist in procurement related activities including RFQs, responding to RFIs, review of vendors proposal and issuance of purchase orders.
• Perform comprehensive review of various BMS and EPMS submittals.
• Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS technical support to in-service data centers.
• Ensure data center BMS and EPMS system are being deployed in accordance with scope of work (SOW) and specifications.
• Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.
• Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls Management.
• Work under tight project timelines.
• Interpret controls drawings and wiring diagrams.
• Interpret controls bill of material (BOM).
• Understand and modify controls logic programming.
• Understand and modify graphical user interface.
• Support Controls related Commissioning activities in field.
• Frequently visit (locally) assigned under construction data centers to supervise vendor’s work to ensure compliance with the design, submittal and applicable local electrical codes (NEC etc.
).
• Perform troubleshooting on all Controls BMS and EPMS related issues raised by operations and stakeholders.
• Perform quarterly maintenance of BMS and EPMS systems.
• Provide On-call response and support the sites after hours.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Key job responsibilities • Troubleshoot and perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) or Corrective Action (CA) for Control Systems for AWS data centers.
• Possess, understand and apply controls fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to manage scope of Building Management System (BMS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) in operational AWS Data Centers.
• Train and assist internal customers and stakeholders with the creation, design, configuration, validation, installation, commissioning and operation of BMS and EPMS systems.
• Provide technical assistance and support to internal customers during life cycle of the data center.
• Complete and implement assigned work within agreed upon scope, schedule and budget to a high level of quality and safety.
• Review controls sequence of operation and provide feedback for construction of AWS data centers.
• Schedule and supervise Quarterly maintenances for BMS and EPMS.
• Provide vendor management.
• Participate in AWS global on-call schedule to provide immediate BMS and EPMS • technical support to in-service data centers.
• Attend project related meetings, coordinate with project leaders and regularly report status to Controls Management.
• Review and provide feedback on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) drawings.

in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related engineering degrees as well as 5 years related experience • Six (6) years of experience in project management/coordination (preferably in Controls domain) and/or technical management, preferably as Owner.
• Multiple years of experience designing, configuring, programming, installing, troubleshooting or servicing BMS and EPMS applications specific controllers, software’s and networks.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent.
• Experience with management of change.
• Knowledge of electrical and/or mechanical systems.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering documentation, electrical diagrams and standard operating procedures.
• Excellent communication skills, teamwork, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to create complex dependency schedules.
