Tyto Athene, LLC is seeking a Unified Communications Engineer who will perform as part of an integrated project team (IPT) to design, integrate, and implement a worldwide softswitch solution for DOD customers.
The Engineer provides expertise in the deployment of Ribbon/Sonus SBCs and PSX servers.
This person works closely with team network engineers, Network Operations Center technicians, network security engineers, and various other groups within the program.
During the Design Phase, the Engineer will review and analyze the Architecture and Design provided by the UC Architect team, assist with developing Detailed Design and Testing documentation, and is responsible for building solutions and testing in the Lab environment.
During the Integration Phase, the Engineer will work to stage the equipment and install it at the Data Centers, perform the user onboarding and user troubleshooting process, and work with engineers at the Customer locations to assist with integration required for local devices and endpoints.
The Engineer will work to ensure that the Site Readiness and Cutover milestones are met.
They further schedule and coordinate lifecycle configuration changes and service patches.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Hands-on experience in administration of Enterprise grade Ribbon/Sonus SBCs and Ribbon PSX Core Session Policy Router (CSPR).
Mid to senior level knowledge to handle troubleshooting of complex PSTN issues involving Ribbon/Sonus SBCs.
Fault isolate software and hardware issues for VoIP and network-based systems to determine root cause and corrective action Work with Ribbon Analytics / Protect as used for reporting and security features.
Work with Ribbon RAMP as used for centralized configuration, license management, and monitoring.
Create documentation for the integration, installation, and implementation of VoIP services Provide expertise in voice QOS, Network Monitoring and Management solutions relating to SBC traffic Provide expertise in upgrading and replacing legacy PBXs with VoIP solutions Provide expertise in the integration of network devices including switches, routers, voice gateways, and session border controllers.
Lead the planning of incremental improvements, implementation, and maintenance of the enterprise voice network Setup, Configuration, and support of SIP and TDM trunks and clients Support the design, test, and integration initiatives for US DOD services.
Perform specific site and core system tests including installation tests, deployment tests, functional tests, production release tests, and finally, acceptance testing for customer signoff Other duties as required Required Experience, Education, and Certifications: Personnel shall possess a fully adjudicated Secret Clearance 6+ years of industry experience in large-scale UC and network transformation architecture 2+ years' experience as a primary resource in the design, implementation, and troubleshooting of Ribbon SBC solutions, or 5 years of similar experience with other SBCs.
Experience in the integration of VoIP and legacy voice services with Ribbon PSX, or other policy based routing / CSPR work.
Knowledge of SIP signaling related to Next Gen 9-1-1 call delivery Knowledge of Stir/Shaken and STI server call flow.
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience Experience configuring network devices such as switches, routers, voice gateways, and session border controllers Ability to work near fulltime in either Fort Meade, MD or Scott Air Force Base, Illinois Optional: Experience with Ribbon Analytics/Protect Optional: Experience with Ribbon RAMP Required Clearance: Personnel shall possess a Secret Security Clearance Requirements: After several strategic acquisitions in 2021, Tyto Athene has experienced enormous opportunity and growth.
