Job Title: Industrial Engineering Intern
Position Overview:
We are looking for motivated Industrial Engineering Interns to collaborate with our production team in optimizing our factory operations.
The interns will be responsible for establishing metrics across various factory stations through time tracking, identifying existing practices, and developing efficiency processes to enhance overall productivity.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the production team to understand current manufacturing processes and workflows.
Conduct time studies and data collection to establish metrics for each factory station.
Analyze data to identify areas of inefficiency and waste in production processes.
Work closely with team members to identify and implement improvements to streamline operations and increase productivity.
Develop standard operating procedures (SOPs) for various factory stations to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Assist in the implementation of new tools, technologies, and methodologies to enhance production efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of efficiency initiatives.
Document and communicate findings, recommendations, and best practices to management and stakeholders.
Participate in training sessions and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to industrial engineering principles and practices.
Support ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, and analyze large datasets.
Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Microsoft Excel or Smartsheet is preferred.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and documentation.
Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Prior internship or coursework in industrial engineering, manufacturing, or process improvement is a plus.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and methodologies is desirable.
Availability to work full-time during the internship period.
