Job Description: As a Mechanical Designer at BW Papersystems, you'll collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, contributing to the design of new equipment and unit modifications tailored to meet precise customer needs or to modernize existing designs.
You'll leverage your expertise to ensure seamless integration of mechanical components, optimizing functionality and performance within project parameters.
Additionally, you'll play a key role in the innovation process, bringing creative solutions to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our products.
Job Responsibilities: Utilize expertise to visualize and define the design of new machines/ optimizing existing drawings of sections, systems/units, and related alterations, employing ingenuity and creativity.
Employ CAD tools to prepare layouts, ensuring designs fit and function appropriately while considering manufacturing feasibility, cost, and operation.
Collaborate with engineering to conduct pertinent calculations for materials, stresses, and clearances, leveraging advanced mathematics and CAD technologies.
Generate bills of material, assembly and detailed drawings, pneumatic schematics, and other data using CAD tools.
Analyze and review requests for engineering changes, adhering to project milestones with accurate execution.
Support cross-functional collaboration, assisting with manufacturing or procurement issues, maintaining supplier relations, and offering guidance on trial runs.
Provide technical assistance during installation and operations at customer locations, identifying opportunities for manufacturing or operational improvement.
Lead, coach, or mentor less experienced team members as needed.
