Shift:
Full Time (40 hours)
Evening Shift; 3:00pm - 11:30pm
Some weekend work required as needed
Non-Exempt; Pay Grade: UI
Position Summary:
Performs maintenance, installation and repair work on electrical equipment, systems and components.
This work is performed under general supervision and using the tools and techniques of electrical technology.
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Successful completion of an Electrical Apprenticeship Program which is approved/accepted by local or state government.
Licensure/Certification:
Journeyman Electrician Certificate
Required Work Experience:
4 years related work experience as obtained in an apprenticeship program under the supervision of a Master Electrician
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of electrical techniques, codes, procedures and materials.
Knowledge of safety rules, procedures and practices, including the proper use of safety equipment as defined by OSHA and industry standards.
Applies electrical and safety knowledge indicated herein.
Safely uses tools and equipment indicated herein.
Possesses the ability to solve problems and manage information indicated herein.
Requires proficient written and verbal English communication skills, at least on an high school graduate level, to interact with departmental/JHM staff.
Identifies and avoids hazards as indicated by warning labels, signage, lights and other warning devices.
Performs work within reasonable lengths of time as measured against trade, industry or engineered standards.
