WHAT WOULD YOU DO AS A STEEL PROJECT MANAGER As a Steel Project Manager at Kinsley Steel, you will have the opportunity to oversee and coordinate the entire process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck for assigned projects.
Your role will involve managing steel detailing and surveying, reading specifications and blueprints to determine material requirements, and creating comprehensive schedules that encompass all project stages from preconstruction planning to closeout procedures.
In this position, you will be responsible for preparing and executing various critical documents, including submittals, contracts, purchase orders, and blueprints.
Additionally, you will play a crucial role in preparing detailed schedules of values for billing purposes and coordinating change orders and proposals with clients.
Maintaining positive client relationships and effective communication with all project stakeholders is essential.
Your expertise in organizing and maintaining important project documents in both hard copy and electronic formats will be vital for successful project execution.
Additionally, you will collaborate with other project contractors, communicate and coordinate steel packages through the BIM process, and address any design conflicts as they arise.

ARE YOU THE STEEL PROJECT MANAGER WE'RE LOOKING FOR? To succeed as a Steel Project Manager at Kinsley Steel the following skills and qualifications are essential: Prior project management experience, particularly in steel fabrication and erection, is strongly preferred.
This experience will enable you to effectively supervise and coordinate the overall process of fabricating and erecting structural steel, miscellaneous metals, joist, and metal deck.
A 2-4 year post-secondary degree is preferred, as it demonstrates a strong foundation in relevant knowledge and skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is required, as you will be utilizing various software tools for documentation, communication, and data analysis.
Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera is preferred.
A valid US driver's license is required, as you may need to travel to project sites and coordinate with various stakeholders.
Knowledge of Tekla and Fabtrol software programs is a plus, as it will enhance your ability to effectively manage steel detailing and surveying.
Understanding materials, methods, and tools involved in steel construction is crucial for overseeing the fabrication and erection processes.
Familiarity with safety, quality, and cost control standards and procedures is necessary to ensure project success.
