*Role Summary/Purpose:* The Field Service Engineer (FSE) reports to the Work Controller and operates on a regularly scheduled basis as well as in an on-call capacity when required.
Duties include installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing TSA Security Equipment (TSE), and training customers on how to maintain TSE.
Communicates effectively in person or by phone to assist the customer and other FSEs as required.
Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish daily work tasks.
If not already certified for maintaining and repairing assigned SE, then certification is a condition of employment.
A high level of reliability is required.
Experienced in fault diagnosis utilizing equipment such as digital voltage meters, flow meters, oscilloscopes, or radiation measuring devices.
Participates in semi-complex equipment installation, trial runs, investigative tests, repairs and overhauls.
Maintains documents on all installations, inspections, maintenance and repair work, and failures.
Participates in responding to semi-complex service or systems calls.
Participates in the assessment of semi-complex product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements.
*Essential Responsibilities: * * Able and willing to successfully perform duties under minimal supervision and within a local and or nationwide team.
* Services ETD’s, Baggage X-Ray equipment, WTMDs, CT BX-Ray, Cargo Inspection Systems, and other equipment used in passenger and baggage screening at airports.
* Perform scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PMs) on TSE at U.
S.
airports under a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Contract for Integrated Logistics Services (ILS).
* Perform On-Call Corrective Maintenance (CM) on TSE at U.
S.
airports by responding promptly to service calls.
* Support of territory requires travel with overnight stays at remote airport locations.
* Conducts Installations, Decommissions and Relocations of SE as dictated by Transportation Equipment Deployment Services (TEDS).
* Coordinates with the local TSA for access to TSE in order to conduct PM and CM events.
* Required to be trained and certified in Preventive and Corrective Maintenance procedures for assigned equipment; must maintain certifications by completing additional training when required.
* Must be able to clearly document work performed.
* Performs Preventive and Corrective Maintenance on commercial TSE as required.
* Significant administrative duties to include daily time and expense reporting, OEM parts and consumables management, and real-time work activity paging when required.
* Establishes and maintains proper business relationships with customers and peers.
* Responds promptly to customer inquiries regarding the performance of deployed equipment.
* Maintains a high level of technical knowledge on all products and serves as the champion for a specific product or issue.
* Troubleshoots, diagnoses, and repairs electro-mechanical equipment at the customers site or via remote maintenance.
* *Qualifications and Requirements:* * Candidate must be a US citizen and will be subject to a government security investigation to meet eligibility requirements for access to SSI and classified information * Shift flexibility is a must.
* Must be able to lift/carry 50lbs.
* Must be able to push/pull 200 lbs.
* Willingness to work overtime and non-standard hours including weekends and holidays.
* Ability to successfully manage assigned parts and consumables inventory.
* Must exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills and be capable of interfacing with customers to provide quality service and feedback on problem evaluation and resolution.
* PC literacy and knowledge of MS Office products.
* Must have a good driving record and a reliable personally owned vehicle to use for performing daily work; mileage is reimbursable from home airport to work location; mileage not authorized to home airport.
* Flexibility to travel on short notice.
* Ability to work in secure environments and pass applicable background checksand drug screen.
* Must have strong knowledge of electronic and mechanical assemblies as well as wiring diagrams and schematics.
*Education:* * Associates Degree in electronics or mechanical engineering, military background, or equivalent years of experience and or equivalent technical training.
*Desired Characteristics:* * Knowledge of Medical X-Ray, CT, MRI, or similar equipment.
* A+ certification.
* Previous experience in a customer service environment.
* Specialized OEM training and certifications.
* Proficiency in completing electronic documentation using mobile devices and web-based interfaces.
* Previous experience interpreting schematic diagrams and perform effective repair and planned maintenance on basic electronic and mechanical equipment.
* Previous experience with government contracts and regulations.
* Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues to the customer in an easy to understand manner.
* Experience interfacing with both internal team members and external customers as part of a solution based service process.
* Change agent and process-oriented.
* Works productively in a pressured environment.
Ability to control emotions and maintain composure during difficult situations.
* Effectively manage the demands of a work life and a personal life.
* Maintains a positive outlook at work.

* Must be able to move/manipulate equipment weighing up to 1000 lbs.

* Job requires frequent bending, stooping, twisting, turning, and working in unusual positions requiring full body mobility.
* Must be able to work safely and follow safety precautions in extreme environments (temperature, humidity, noise, confined spaces, etc.
) around dangerous industrial equipment.
*Travel:* * 75 – 85% of the time.
* Willing to travel outside of assigned area of responsibility when needed.
Job Type: Full-time Pay: $33.
