is an Information Technology and Information Management (IT/IM) firm providing support to DoD, Federal, State, Local and commercial customers.
We are seeking an Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Technician to support projects in the Baltimore, MD area.
NATURE OF POSITION
Perform and participate in the implementation and maintenance of the onboard vehicle technology system; provide support of system administration and fleetwide usability of computer and information-related onboard systems.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform installation of vehicle technology systems; assist users with computer equipment peripherals, software packages, web-based technologies, and other client systems.
Update technical documentation such as client and application specific installation configurations, troubleshoot logs, and vendor support.
Diagnose systems for hardware or software problems, determine and execute appropriate actions.
Verifies reported defects and corrects/clears defects using logical troubleshooting methods.
Reports poor workmanship.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on electronic revenue collection, surveillance, communications, mobile data, and other associated electronic systems.
Participate in evaluating and recommending new technologies.
Document and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for system administration, including Windows, Office, networks, internet/intranet, and other computer software and hardware.
Work with and maintain confidential information.
Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Current systems software, protocols, and standards, including software such as MS Office, Windows 7 and higher.
Tools, equipment, practices, and methods of installing electronic communications equipment.
Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot software and hardware.
Ability to read, interpret and understand electrical schematics, wiring and digital diagrams.
Operate a variety of microcomputers, servers, personal computers, and related equipment including printers, interfacing hardware, terminals, and software packages.
Communicate technical information in written and visual forms to end users and management.
Learn new technologies, policies, procedures, and guidelines established by professional organizations and/or governing agencies.
Utilize office equipment and other relevant technology (software and systems) to meet business needs.
Understand, follow, and communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Work as a team member and independently; effectively apply organizational and time management skills; meet deadlines and comply with Agency policies.
Exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
Focus on tasks and recall details; handle frequent interruptions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED is required.
Associate degree in Electronics Technology or related field is a plus, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
A valid Driver’s License is required for the job and must meet client’s requirements regarding motor vehicle records.
Working knowledge of personal computers and related software.
Good communications (written and verbal) skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two-years’ experience in Intelligent Transportation Systems Vehicle, bus and/or rail car, electrical wiring and power systems experience in the transit industry.
