We are looking for a Production Operations Manager who will be an integral part of our success, providing leadership and manufacturing excellence to our facility.
*Ethos Seafood Group* makes selecting and preparing fresh seafood simple and worry-free.
Ethos currently serves retail locations throughout California and the southwestern U.
S.
from our state-of-the-art facility in Rancho Dominguez, CA.
We deliver, cut, pre-packed seafood products daily.
Products range from simple portion packed fish to value-added seafood dishes which are ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat.
Ethos Seafood Group will now be serving the East Coast U.
S.
at a new state-of-the-art facility in Elkridge, MD.
We are looking for a Production Operations Manager who will be an integral part of our success, providing leadership and manufacturing excellence to our facility.
This position will involve working directly with the Plant Manager to develop, execute, and achieve plant goals and objectives.
*This role will:* * Manage strategic responsibility for all aspects of operational activities, producing multiple sku’s supporting the Ethos retail business unit and achieving all departmental key objectives: cost, quality, customer service, sanitation, safety/environmental, and system performance * Ensure efficient, safe, & sanitary processing & packaging of consumer food products in the quantities required.
Ensure that production facilities and finished products meet the company and government standards of quality, sanitation, and safety * Day to day priority/direction setting including coordination with other departments in facility (quality, maintenance, distribution) and Rancho Dominguez personnel (R&D, logistics, operations) * Analyze work system/staffing for department (salaried and wage) on on-going basis * Clearly communicates and holds self and staff accountable for business objectives.
Provide leadership to ensure success in achieving business objectives * Maintain a working relationship with plant distribution and scheduling functions to proactively negotiate schedules that achieve a balance between customer service needs, supply chain costs, and plant efficiencies * Manage “major events” such as start-ups, changeovers, and shutdown activities.
Ensure effective interchange of information between work groups and support resources at the plant and from within Ethos to facilitate these activities * Conduct analysis of labor and other costs, reporting on a monthly basis and review with Plant Manager Interface with hourly employees to resolve issues; participate in employee committees for specific initiatives; enforcement of wage employee policies and procedures; decision maker in labor relations and employee discipline process * Foster relationships with other staff members to create an environment where all employees are encouraged & developed to reach their full potential in meeting department/business goals * Facilitate, coach, counsel and guide the manufacturing work group to ensure that they can deliver results year in and year out * Leverage experience and system knowledge to support all areas of the department as a subject expert * Manage Plant in the absence of the Plant Manager in all areas *Candidates must possess the following:* * BS/BA college degree [engineering/science preferred] * 3-6 years of manufacturing management experience * Proven line management experience *The ideal candidate would have the following background:* * Engineering degree (pref.
ChE, IE, ME, EE) from a strong school.
MBA would be great, not necessary * Food manufacturing experience *The outstanding candidate will also possess the following skills and abilities:* * Strong leadership skills including the ability to implement change and resolve conflict * Ability to create and lead strategic initiatives * Ability to develop and coach others * Excellent interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
* Ability to adjust to multiple demands, shifting work priorities, ambiguity, adversity and change.
* Demonstrated understanding of technology i.

* Good analytical and business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills.
