Plant Manager Job Description
Successful Family-Owned Manufacturing Plant seeks a Plant Manager with proven leadership skills and a strong work ethic to join our team.
This senior-level position reports to the General Manager of DBA.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and safe operation of the manufacturing plant, with a focus on maximizing productivity and profitability.
Key responsibilities include:
Maximize Plant Capacity & Efficiency:
Lead efforts to enhance throughput and operational efficiencies to increase manufacturing profitability.
Continuously assess and optimize production processes, workflows, and staffing to meet production goals.
Assure Quality Control:
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance (QA) Department to maintain high product quality standards.
Implement and enforce quality control measures to ensure consistent product quality.
Monitor Yield and Cost Control:
Analyze production costs and yields to identify opportunities for cost savings and improved productivity.
Implement strategies to control and reduce production costs while maximizing output.
Assure Sanitation Processes:
Work closely with the Sanitation Manager to ensure that sanitation and hygiene protocols are followed rigorously.
Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with regulatory standards.
Support R&D Efforts:
Collaborate with the Research and Development team to facilitate new product development and process improvements.
Provide input and resources to support innovation within the plant.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate for the Plant Manager position should possess the following qualifications:
Leadership Experience: A minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing plant setting.
Education: A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree in Business or Industrial Management with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
Industry Expertise: Experience in the production of meat, poultry, and Ready-to-Eat (RTE) facilities.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of regulatory compliance, including HACCP and USDA guidelines.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills to lead and collaborate with a diverse team.
Training Ability: Ability to provide on-the-job training to staff.
Technical Proficiency: Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
