Location/Division Specific Information: The position will cover the following territories: Virginia, Maryland (DC area), SE Pennsylvannia, West Virgina and North Carolina.

Discover Impactful Work: The Field Service Engineer (FSE) will conduct laboratory instrument repairs, upgrades, troubleshooting, installation, and preventative maintenance at customer sites.
The FSE will primarily handle an assigned territory, but will provide service in other territories as needed.
A Day in the Life: Perform installs and PMs of laboratory instrumentation Must have excellent customer interface skills and be responsible for customer satisfaction in assigned territory Demonstrated professionalism in working relationships with team, customers and collaborators within our company Responsible for maintaining inventory and administrative records in a timely manner Assist in the development and improvement of service processes and information Joint territory management with the Area Account Managers Provide account status and service visit reports to the supervisor Responsible for maintaining accurate car stock and service documentation Follow local management policies for access to facilities in assigned territory Remain current on equipment/tools through appropriate training, manuals, technical bulletins and other relevant materials Ensure accurate communication and/or documentation for product complaints per SOP Maintain records and reports, coordinate activities with peers, manager and customers to minimize equipment downtime and interruptions Works closely with Service Sales Specialist to maintain service contract relationships with key customer accounts Exercises excellent judgment setting priorities, critical issues and identifying next steps Ability to operate computers, smartphones and related software and programs efficiently Quickly adapts to change with positive and constructive feedback Achieves specified targets while satisfying Corrective and Preventive Instrument maintenance.
Assist other Field Service Engineers in problem resolution and territory management Handle and solve complex technical issues with hardware, firmware and software Must be proactive in resolving instrument issues before they become chronic by identifying a root cause and course of action Collaborates with internal partners to resolve customer issues and improve processes.
Perform repairs and upgrades of laboratory instrumentation In addition, other duties may be assigned as the business need warrants.
Keys to Success: Education: Must have associate’s degree in electronics, engineering, biomedical technology or other applicable field of study.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology preferred Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience with related science, engineering and/or customer skills Ability to handle a large territory and perform service training, customer training, support and repair of laboratory equipment Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria: Must be able to travel at least 75% with overnight stays May be required to travel to customer sites with as little as 24 hours notice Must be able to take at least 10 paid on-call weekends in a year Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a routine basis We offer competitive remuneration, healthcare, company pension, and a range of employee benefits.
