Job Description Location: Annapolis Junction,MD,US Remote Work: No Job Number: R0188380 Systems Administrator The Opportunity: A well-designed secure network is critical to move data and enable Department of Defense to achieve their mission, but how can an organization make sure their network will fit their current and evolving needs? That’s why we need you, a virtual server engineer, who knows how to utilize your craft to facilitate the Department of Defense needs.
As a virtual server engineer on our team, you’ll work with the Department of Defense to develop a reliable, secure, network to support critical missions.
You’ll collaborate with SMEs, customers, vendors, and users to learn the strategic goals and operational needs that shape the network requirements.
You’ll then your expertise during the planning of acquisition, installation, configuration, and maintenance of the network components.
From resolving interoperability issues across platforms, to supporting the acquisition of hardware, you’ll put your hardware and software talents to good use.
This is your chance to your experience with backbone networks, cloud technologies, and core networking, while broadening your security & network engineering work.
You’ll dive into challenging hands-on problem-solving, and encounter opportunities to learn new tools and skills.

What You’ll Work On: Develop relationships quickly and easily with other teams, communicating the complexities of security with a wide variety of audiences, including senior management Implement infrastructure and cyber security controls, including enhanced detection and vulnerability capabilities and improved event correlation in large enterprises Perform risk and vulnerability assessments in network, system, and application areas Leverage big data analytics and traditional security event types to identify advanced threats or indicators of compromise.

You Have: Experience with designing, deploying, and advanced support of multi-protocol IP backbone and access networks Experience with operating and maintaining VMWare ESXi environments Experience operating, deploying or administering Linux/Unix systems Experience with standardized builds that are remotely deployable, including using provisioning software to a bare metal server or virtual machine Ability to plan, develop, and perform lab performance, functional, and integration testing Ability to provide on-call Tier 3 operational support for emerging networks Secret clearance HS diploma or GED and 8+ years of experience with systems administration, Associate's degree and 6+ years of experience with systems administration, or Bachelor's degree and 4+ years of experience with systems administration Ability to obtain a DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 3 months of hire Nice If You Have: Experience with security, routing, and switching protocols, including BGP, OSPF, MPLS, LDP, VPLS, IPsec, STP, or L3VPNs Experience in deploying, upgrading, and troubleshooting multivendor network equipment and solutions, including Cisco, Palo Alto, Dell, HPE, or Juniper Experience with STIGing or security hardening of systems Experience with NESSUS, ACAS, or other security analysis tools Experience with secret classified networks Industry Certification such as CCNA, CCNP, VMWare, Linux, JNCIA, or JNCP Security+ or other Cybersecurity related Certification Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements.
The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.
00 to $166,000.
