Operates bridge/mobile cranes to lift, transport, and position materials in shop areas, warehouses, outside storage facilities, and test areas.
Work areas contain some ground level obstacles such as equipment, stacked supplies, and partitioned bins which may limit maneuverability.
The cranes are fitted with attachments such as hook, magnet, clamshell bucket, or special material handling devices, and is typically used to: move and stack bulk supplies such as crates, lumber, or sheet metal on loading docks; segregate and move scrap metal for salvage operations; load and unload sand, gravel or other loose material into bins, hoppers/loading docks, or railroad cars; and segregate and move scrap metal into trucks, bins, or railroad cars; or dig trenches.
Also, operates boom crane at various outdoor locations where maneuverability is not a major problem.
Worksites may contain some obstacles such as trees, walls, and equipment.
The crane normally is operated with standard boom lengths and angles, and with loads that are well within the lifting capacity of the crane.
The boom crane is fitted with attachments such as hook, clamshell bucket, orange peel bucket, magnet, pile driver, demolition hammer, or dragline bucket.
Here’s what you’ll need: Qualifications: Must have 3 yr.
experience operating mobile cranes with lift limits in excess of 15 tons.
Must possess or be capable of obtaining a National Commission of Certified Crane Operators (CCO) Certification or equivalent to operate large telescopic boom cranes in excess of 17-1/2 tons at the contractor’s expense.
UNUSUAL OR SPECIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION Must operate mobile cranes with lift limits in excess of 15 tons.
The ability to stoop, crawl, and climb into or under a vehicle is required (up to 25%).
Walking a minimum of 50 yards over rough terrain is required (up to 25%).
The ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds is required (up to 25%).
DESCRIPTION OF WORK ENVIRONMENT Operates Mobile Cranes to lift, transport, and position materials in shop areas, warehouses, outside storage facilities, and test ranges.
Ability to survey site conditions and properly set crane up in uneven terrain and poor soil conditions.
Work environment may be inside or outside depending on the task.
The ability to work in outside field conditions that include hot and cold extreme temperatures and other outdoor climatic conditions is required (up to 25%).
Must be able to work in areas where only portable restroom facilities are available (up to 25%).
Work environment may be fast-paced and require work under pressure to meet deadlines associated with the completion of a task.
EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES INVOLVED IN WORK TASKS Operates Mobile Hydraulic cranes to 80-ton lift capacity and conventional cranes to 300-ton.
Operates mobile and overhead cranes to move military vehicles and equipment, tractor trailers, and railroad cars.
Operates motor vehicles with responsibility for proper loading and unloading.
Also performs preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
May operate heavy trucks and truck-trailers (4-ton and over) to transport materials and equipment to various areas within the installation.
CRITICALITY OF ATTENDANCE Attendance is critical at all times during normal duty hours.
Work outside of normal duty hours, including weekends and holidays, may be required with as little as one-hour advance notice.
OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must be able to obtain an interim secret security clearance in order to gain access to required areas, networks and systems within thirty (30) days of date of your offer letter.
Must be able to obtain and retain a secret security clearance.
Must be NCCCO certified in small/large hydraulic mobile cranes.
Certified in Lattice Truck crane a plus.
Must understand and be familiar with OSHA standard 1926.
550, 1910-180 and ANSI/ASME B30.
5 and B30.

Must possess a Class A CDL and understand DOT regulations pertaining to commercial transportation.
Must have experience in hauling/moving heavy equipment and cranes.
On occasion will support other crane operators as truck driver and rigger.
Must be able to provide proof of U.
S.
citizenship.
Must be able to obtain and retain unescorted access to work areas.
May be subject to other physicals or exams if required to wear a respirator or are designated by the COR to have other physicals due to the work area in which you are assigned.
May be subject to exposure to noise, vibration, and fuels such as diesel and gasoline.
Must be able to wear personal protective equipment as required.
Must have a valid driver’s license and personal transportation for the purpose of moving around the proving ground to accomplish job functions and in order to operate a rental vehicle if and when travel is required.
Must be able to obtain and maintain a military driver’s license within 30 days of employment.
