You will be an integral part of Impact’s business operations team, with a focus on managing general accounting and financial processes for our company.

Responsibilities
Maintain and update accounting records and files
Ensure transactions are being posted to the correct projects
Examine tax policies and handle tax payments and returns, including both sales and income tax in multiple states.
Post transactions and categorize records in the general ledger (e.
g.
by assets, liabilities and expenses)
Reconcile bank statements
Support month-end and year-end closures
Prepare documents for audits
Apply new accounting policies and ensure compliance with rules and regulations
Providing project managers and clients with timely financial reports and budgets, as well as project forecasts.
Assisting the accounting manager as needed.
Report to the Accounting Manager and work to improve financial processes
Requirements:
Preferences
The ideal candidate will have accounting experience at a high growth startup or business unit
Advanced experience with accounting policies and compliance
Experience in a construction, contracting, or other job costing environment is useful
What you need to succeed
Have 3-5 years of accounting experience
Knowledge of accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)
Excellent use of Microsoft Office Word and Excel; very good with spreadsheets
Knowledge of an accounting information systems
Knowledge of Sales tax compliance software, i.
e.
Avalara is a plus
Good math skills
High degree of attention to detail and multi-tasking
Strong organizational and communication skills
Confidentiality and integrity
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in accounting, business accounting, or finance

Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
This is a full-time job working in an office Monday through Friday.
