Bioenergy Devco is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician for our Anaerobic Digestion (AD) Plant and Wastewater (WW) unit.
The Maintenance Tech is responsible for performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting services.
They will maintain the facilities electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems to ensure continuous system workflow and operations.
This position reports to the Plant Manager and will report to the Maryland Bioenergy Center located at 7900 Oceano Avenue, Jessup MD.
Requirements
Complete all regular and unscheduled maintenance activities
Participate in preventive maintenance for plant equipment, machinery, and related facilities; identify equipment maintenance needs; record mechanical equipment readings; ensure accuracy of records kept.
Perform routine mechanical, electrical, welding, or machining maintenance activities on equipment including lubrication, inspection, and replacement parts; order and maintain stock levels of lubricants used in plant equipment.
Maintain records of plant function readings and equipment history; maintain preventative maintenance records and schedules.
Maintain and repair treatment plant equipment including aeration blowers, barminutors, pumps and motors, compressors, belt press, valves, drive units, hydraulic control units, chlorinators, chemical feeders, pneumatic equipment, and hydraulic pressure systems.
Participate in the installation of wastewater treatment plant equipment; participate in making modifications to equipment for maximum treatment process performance.
Maintain efficient records on all activities relative to maintenance utilizing E-Maintenance Management Systems
Ensure and adhere to safe work practices and procedures
Interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, and diagrams for a variety of wastewater systems to assist with troubleshooting and maintenance
Operate a variety of heavy equipment including loaders, backhoe, bulldozers, cranes, forklifts, and graders as necessary.
Assist with maintenance of the SCADA system and instrumentation as necessary.
Participate in special projects as assigned.
Perform related duties as required.
Qualifications \u007C Experience
Minimum of 5 years’ experience with a Mechanical, Process or Electrical Engineering bias
Possess a Technical Certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance or similar
Experience with all aspects of a Wastewater Plant or other similar process plant environment, such as landfill, wastewater treatment facility, waste incinerators, or others.
Have diverse knowledge to include electrical motors, gasoline/diesel engines, various type pumps, blowers/ compressors, conveyors, drive units, valves, hydraulic systems, boilers, pneumatic systems, chemical feeders, process control instrumentation monitoring flow, pressure, temperature, and level.
Computer literacy in Microsoft is essential.
Must be able to complete spreadsheets, reports, emails and operate the SCADA control system
Excellent communication skills and collaborative manner
Effective problem-solving ability
Ability to troubleshoot and identify faults at plant is crucial, including basic electrical faults.
Experience in producing and following Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment documents
Excellent organizational and time management skills.
Ability and willingness to travel to plants and stay as needed
Live within a commutable distance to Jessup, Maryland (Maximum 1 hour response time)
Willing to perform 24 hour On Call Duty on a scheduled rotation
