Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a dedicated Quality engineer to be part of our dynamic team supporting a multitude of Northrop’s premier programs in Baltimore, MD.
You will be working with cutting edge technology in our Airborne Multifunction Sensors Division.

Roles & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Develops, modifies, applies and maintains quality evaluation and control systems and protocols for processing materials into partially finished or finished materials product.
Collaborates with engineering and manufacturing functions to ensure quality standards are in place and maintained.
Devises and implements methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision and accuracy of products and production equipment.
Designs and analyzes inspection and testing processes, mechanisms and equipment; conducts quality assurance tests; and performs statistical analysis to assess the cost of and determine the responsibility for, products or materials that do not meet required standards and specifications.
Perform production floor activities associated with quality, production, and test activities, while assisting in the corrective action board (CAB) including data gathering and analysis.
Possess technical knowledge in specifications/standards, drawing interpretation, measurement and analysis methods, process and product assessments, and corrective action methodology Support the Inspection Team by ensuring contractual quality requirements are flowed down to the cell, clarifying drawing and other build documentation questions Possess the ability to apply technical standards, scientific principles, theories and concepts Audits quality systems for deficiency identification and correction while collaborating with the compliance team Ensures that corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards and that documentation is compliant with requirements.
May specialize in the areas of design, incoming material, production control, product evaluation and reliability, inventory control and/or research and development as they apply to product or process quality.
May be certified in lean and six-sigma quality engineering methodologies.
Basic Qualifications for a Quality Engineer: Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, or equivalent STEM discipline.
2+ years of relevant work experience in a Mechanical Manufacturing/Machining environment (1+ year(s) with a related Master's degree).
Possess technical knowledge in quality specifications and standards.
Proficiency in MS Office Applications especially Excel, Word, Power Point Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
US Citizenship required.
Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Materials, Civil, Engineering Master’s degree in STEM discipline.
PCDMIS CMM programming experience.
Working knowledge of GD&T.
Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Certification in a Method.
Additive Manufacturing or Brazing experience.
Quality related experience in the following processes: machining, sheet metal, welding, finishing, mechanical assembly.
Training in LEAN, Six Sigma, and CI methodologies, Certified Green or Black Belt.
Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 and internal auditing Experience in a DoD Manufacturing environment.
Drawing interpretation and ANSI Y14.
5 requirements experience Salary Range: $73,600 - $110,400 Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results.
Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
