Scenic Carpenter

Event Pro is a growing event production company located in Elkridge, MD and we are currently in need of a few scenic carpenters.
At Event Pro there are always multiple projects open at any given point in time and our scenic carpenters are required to be able to function in a fast paced environment with often shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
The role requires someone who works well independently or with a team and can take direction from others.

_*This is a position for someone that has training in scenic carpentry or a history of finer carpentry that is willing to learn and grow with the company.
*_ _Qualifications And Skills: _Scenic Carpenter _Required Skills:_ * Familiarity with working in a fabrication shop and with the related tools: table saw, band saw, pneumatic fasteners, routers etc.
* Ability to read plans and follow instructions * Ability to understand construction logic * Ability to follow direction and work effectively with peers * Able to conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times * Ability to interpret blueprints and drawings * Strong understanding of mathematical concepts and measurements * Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects * Ability to occasionally work long hours (10 hours or more in a shift) * Some basic scenic painting experience preferred but not required * Welding experience is a plus _Job Competencies:_ * Adaptability and ability to change priorities as they dynamically shift * Ongoing learning and betterment * Analytical Thinking/Problem Solving * Strong verbal and written communication skills * Attention-to-detail and design * Takes initiative to stay busy and keep job moving per direction from lead * Strong integrity and ethics _Job Type:_ Full-time Pay: $15 - $25 per hour _Experience (any of the following):_ * 1-2 years experience with theatrical/scenic carpentry * A degree in theatrical design * 1-2 years in a fine carpentry position (casework/millwork) Must have reliable transportation Must be authorized to work in the United States _Typical start time:_ 7 - 8AM _Typical end time:_ 4 - 5PM _This Job Is:_ Open to applicants who do not have a college diploma _Company's website: _goeventpro.
