*SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:*
Education or experience requirements include:
o High school diploma and technical school graduate or an associate degree in quality or a technical field with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of technical experience.
o Must have strong electronic, mechanical and assembly skills.
o Must be proficient with configuring windows PCs, loading drivers and software and testing configured PCs.
o Experience using an ERP/MRP system and MS office is a plus.
o Ability to read engineering drawings and understand specifications required.
o Strong communications skills are critical in this position.
o Experience using a wide variety of metrology instruments and techniques to accurately measure conformance of manufacturing materials, tools and manufactured parts and sub-assemblies to quality specifications is a plus.
*PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:*
o Calibrate, align, troubleshoot, and final test all BGA capital equipment before shipment.
o Assist in creating and maintaining production cell work instructions.
o Participate in the assembly of capital equipment as needed.
o Help manage software and driver revisions.
o Assist in QA inspection.
o Use a variety of precision instruments and measuring tools to inspect incoming materials used for in-house manufacturing as well as parts and sub-assemblies manufactured for conformance to quality specifications.
o Conduct process audits for vendor and in-house systems in conjunction with purchasing.
*REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES:*
* Liaise with Engineering and production cell to address identified issues.
* Responsible for final test of manufactured capital products.
This includes calibration, alignment and troubleshooting of electronic and mechanical systems utilizing the following equipment and resources: Multifunctional meters, Oscilloscopes, Power analyzers, Digital analyzers, in-house test units, schematics, mechanical drawings, and bills of materials.
* Configure (loading drivers and software) and test Windows-based PCs.
o Provides feedback to the production cell(s) and design engineering based on product quality at final inspection.
* Assist in creating/modifying assembly work instructions.
* Assist with product transition from engineering development to production.
* Works from approved drawings and specifications to QA inspect in-house produced and vendor supplied components using a variety of precision measuring instruments (Vernier calipers, micro-meters, comparators, height gages, plug gages, MCC gages, surface and radius gages, etc) as necessary to assure the conformance of manufacturing materials and in-house manufactured parts and sub-assemblies to quality specifications.
* Periodically, checks the accuracy and settings of precision instruments used in performing responsibilities in conformance with PACE’s QA program.
* Periodically, conducts vendor and in-house process audits to assess process capabilities.
* Supports engineering evaluation and testing for new and existing product designs and upgrades.
* Supports continuous improvement efforts for products and processes.
* Provide service and warranty support to PACE’s end user customers and sales channel on capital equipment once familiar with the PACE product line.
* Undertakes such additional responsibilities as directed or required.
