Role Overview
As the Helpdesk Manager, you will lead a team to troubleshoot, repair, and test satellite communication equipment.
You will serve as the lead and be responsible for ensuring the efficient and accurate completion of the set goals and expectations of the team.

Specific Skillset
Managing the helpdesk and supporting client troubleshooting efforts
Support the installation, operation, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical satellite communications (SATCOM) networks, terminals, and associated equipment in Ka-Band, X-Band, C-band, Ku-Band, EHF, and UHF frequency ranges.
Monitor and analyze satellite communication links; identify and rectify performance issues.
Perform troubleshooting and repair of, High-Power Amplifiers (HPA), fiber-optic systems, up converters, down converters, RF switching units, Antenna Control Units (ACUs), Low-Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) and Low-Noise Block Downconverters (LNBs), switching, monitoring and audio/video equipment.
Perform fault isolation and diagnostic assessment and execution of corrective action(s) on a real-time basis.
Perform routine and non-routine repair of satellite antenna systems and associated subsystems
Conduct interval and demand preventive maintenance checks and services IAW site specifications.
Interface with functional users in both routine and reactive monitoring situations.
Maintain logs and records associated with testing requirements, problem reporting, troubleshooting, and help desk support.
Knowledge of and maintenance training for monitoring & Control, asset tracking, and trouble ticketing software
Work with military satellite constellations and ground station equipment.
Understand MIL-STDs and certifications
Requirements:
Education & Certifications
Highschool Diploma or GED Equivalent
Experience Requirements
Experience working in a management role in a helpdesk environment
IT and ticketing experience with Remedy.
(5) years earth station systems experience and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proficient in using common test equipment (e.
g.
digital test sets, spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and power meters)
Experienced working within the DoD Teleport System.
Experience with commercial satellite constellations and ground station equipment.
Direct hands-on experience operating UHF, EHF, X, KA, C, KU, and AEHF band terminals.
Detailed knowledge of Deployable Ku/KA/X-band Earth Terminals (DKET).
System level and bench level electronics troubleshooting experience.
Experience with IP-based satellite communications networks.
