Position Title: Sanitation Supervisor

Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Job Summary:
The Sanitation Supervisor plays a critical role in ensuring the cleanliness and safety of our plant during their assigned shift.
They coordinate sanitation efforts, oversee the work of sanitation personnel, and ensure adherence to food safety standards and company policies.
Primary Job Duties:
1.
Collaborate with production supervisors and maintenance personnel to assess sanitation requirements for bakery equipment and machinery.
2.
Develop work schedules and assign sanitation personnel to specific tasks.
Conduct inspections to ensure work quality.
3.
Communicate daily and weekly department activities to the Sanitation Manager.
4.
Monitor and regulate chemical usage to prevent misuse and ensure safety.
5.
Supervise and participate in pest control activities, including the application of insecticides or other chemicals.
6.
Inspect the plant for signs of pests or insects, maintaining a clean and pest-free environment.
7.
Uphold food safety standards established by H&S Bakery.
8.
Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of both external and internal areas of H&S Bakery facilities.
9.
Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including but not limited to EEO, Sexual Harassment, and Safety.
10.
Coordinate disciplinary actions for subordinates in conjunction with the Sanitation Manager and HR department.
11.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems, plumbing issues, and hydraulics.
12.
Prioritize safety:
a) Create a safe working environment for all employees and contractors.
b) Participate in accident investigations.
c) Promote employee safety across all operational areas.
13.
Prioritize sanitation:
a) Maintain cleanliness in the work area.
b) Ensure that Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) are consistently followed.
14.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Sanitation Manager.
Essential Job Functions/Requirements:
Experience:
- Prior experience in plant sanitation, with a preference for two or more years.
- Demonstrated knowledge in pest control and related requirements.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent, or a combination of relevant experience and technical training.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be physically capable of moving throughout all areas of the plant.
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop, climb, push, and pull as needed in a production environment.
- Comfortable with climbing ladders, crawling under equipment, and working in confined spaces.
- Proficient in using sanitation equipment and tools, with adequate arm, hand, and finger dexterity.
- Capable of prolonged standing and performing movements such as squatting, bending, and stooping.
- Able to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds and wear protective clothing and equipment as needed.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to read, comprehend, and implement safety procedures, signs, and instructions.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as determined by management.
