Maritime Applied Physics Corporation (MAPC) is a Baltimore based engineering, research, development, and production company focused on marine technologies.
We have a current opening for a Quality Engineer in the Baltimore, Maryland office to assist in the management and completion of maritime technology development programs.
*Primary responsibilities*
The quality engineer role is a role directly supporting a variety of different programs in many different lifecycle phases.
On a day to day basis, the quality engineer should expect to:
- Oversee the inspection of parts from the MAPC Machine Shop
- Oversee the inspection of parts from MAPC Vendor Partners
- Assist program managers with the collection & organization of contractually required Quality Data (like CoCs and Material Certs)
- Assist program managers with the preparation of FAI reports and other contractually required documentation for MAPC produced product
- Assist program managers in interpreting and applying various contractual quality requirements
- Maintain calibration records
- Assist in the management of the MAPC QMS system
Candidates should expect to occasionally coordinate and participate in on-site vendor audits and program support activities.
Typical travel is < 10% and within the United States.

*Required*
Experience with CAD (SolidWorks is highly preferred)
Some experience in a manufacturing environment (welding, assembly, machining background)
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
The ability to use basic measurement tools (tape measure, calipers, etc.
)
Strong computer skills with a knack for managing large numbers of documents

Past experience as a Quality Engineer or Machinist
Experience with CMMs or other digital inspection tools
Affinity for or experience working with boats and marine projects
