*Position Overview:*
*A HVAC DFMA Managers duties are to layout Mechanical systems for installation in residential, and commercial, buildings and ensure that these systems meet health and safety codes.
You must also ensure they do not conflict with other systems being installed.
Your responsibilities include drawing or drafting sketches, plans, or layouts for the Mechanical systems in a development.
* *Reporting Relationships:* Escalation: VP of Operations Reports to: Director of MEP Direct Reports: None (may be added as needed) *Principal Responsibilities:* * Utilize BIM software to model Mechanical components for project delivery, under the direction of the Director of MEP, including RTU’s, air handlers, duct, and BOM’s.
* Manage schedule and deliverables for assigned projects, reporting progress, and flagging delays when necessary to Director of MEP and Project Management * Organize and run project-based production documentation meetings to monitor drawing progress, clash detection, and coordination with project architect, MEP disciplines, and structural.
* Advise and assist Manufacturing and Construction with any production drawing related RFIs.
* Work with Director of MEP and Preconstruction team to generate and maintain relevant standard schedules, templates, and checklists.
* Aid in the production of the BIM manual with respect to Mechanical systems modeling process.
* Mentor and train junior members of the DFMA team.
* Maintain open communication with manufacturing and Construction teams on a project-by-project basis to ensure faithful and profitable execution of Projects.
*Professional Qualities & Experience:* * Minimum of 3-5 Years of relevant experience required.
* Revit proficiency required.
* Previous experience in Mechanical drafting is required.
* Familiarity with North American building codes and the SMACNA standards is Required.
* Experience in drafting of components for modular/site-built construction is preferred.
* Microsoft Office Suite proficiency required.
