*General Maintenance Worker*
*Overview:* Penobscot Support Services is hiring a General Maintenance Worker responsible for general maintenance activities in ARMY buildings at Aberdeen Proving Ground.
These responsibilities include but are not limited to painting, carpentry, plumbing and electrical support.
This position is located at the U.
S.
Army Chemical Biological Center (CBC).
The role requires _an on-site presence_.
*Duties and Responsibilities:*
1.
Assemble and disassemble modular furniture units; and perform general maintenance on equipment and machinery.
Maintenance Technicians must demonstrate a basic understanding and knowledge of general maintenance, carpentry, painting, refurbishing, plumbing, electricity, and HVAC in both theory and practical application.
Work collaboratively with other team members to execute the project scope identified by the government customers and lead by the PSS Project Manager.
Drywall repair and installation, floor installation (Carpet, VCT tile, vinyl plank etc.
), installation of faucets, toilets and trouble shooting of plumbing related issues.
*Skills and Experience:*
* Working knowledge of construction engineering technology, building codes and standards, etc.
, complete understanding of the interdependence and relationship between function units required.
* Good communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills required.
* Ability to manage and alter project teamwork schedule to manage project priorities.
* Strong oral and written communication skills
* Critical thinking abilities
· Able to effectively troubleshoot problems, recognize deficiencies and initiate action to resolve them.
*Physical abilities/Working Conditions:*
* Must be able to perform work outdoors and indoors.

*Requirements*: The General Maintenance Worker shall possess, at a minimum, a high school diploma or equivalent.
Three or more years’ experience as a Maintenance Technician or equivalent facilities technical trade.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
• Basic English language proficiency in reading and writing required
• Must have reliable transportation to use for work purposes

*Security Clearance:* The candidate must be able to pass a federal background investigation.
A current National Agency Check with Inquiries (*NACI*) is preferred.
