Job Description
DPR Construction is seeking a Project Manager for our office in Columbia, MD.
Project Manager will assist in managing the design and building of commercial construction projects utilizing principles of civil construction engineering and advanced technologies.
Working under the supervision of the Project Executive, s/he will be responsible for managing jobsite operations, financial reporting, document control, procurement and preconstruction, and technical aspects of each project.
Specific duties include: preparing work scopes and organizing cost structure; managing project-related scheduling; managing change of orders, including preparation, notification to all relevant parties, and follow up; manage weekly construction meetings and follow-through on action items; maintenance of all finance related documentation pertaining to each project, and management of billing matters with subcontractors and owners; manage all project related documentation, including all logs, records and safety maintenance, and RFI.
Under the direction of the Project Executive, s/he will manage all areas of procurement: schedule the purchase and delivery of all project related materials, and long lead subcontract items; oversee submission of shop drawings, samples and supplier data, and schedule all subcontractor work.
Other duties include oversight of technical matters, including detailing and preparing Shop Drawings, participating in job layout, reviewing all subcontractor and vendor work product for contractual compliance and coordination, and serving as point of contact and resolution for all parties regarding conflicts, issues, etc.
The successful candidates will meet the following qualifications:
Education/Experience Requirements: Master’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related, plus three (3) years of experience in job offered or in a civil engineering position in the commercial construction industry.
Alternate Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering or related, plus five (5) years of post-baccalaureate, progressive experience in job offered or in a civil engineering position in the commercial construction industry.
Special Requirements:
One (1) year of experience with the following:
Design and/or construction in healthcare, life science, advanced technology, higher education or commercial facilities;
Interfacing with trade contractors regarding subcontractual issues;
Bluebeam;
Project Management software;
Primavera scheduling software.
Salary: $138,590 / year
