ELIGIBILITY: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months.

CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check.
PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months.
CLASS DESCRIPTION
A Stores Supervisor I plan and coordinates the receipt, storage and distribution of equipment, materials and supplies in a warehouse or large supply distribution facility.
Work of this class involves supervising stores and warehousing personnel.
Incumbents receive moderate supervision from a technical superior.
Employees in this class work a conventional workweek.
Work is performed in an office where there is minimal exposure to environmental hazards.
Work requires minimal physical exertion.
SELECTION PROCESS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must:
EDUCATION: Have graduated from an accredited high school or possession of a GED certificate.
AND
EXPERIENCE: Have five years of experience in storing and issuing equipment and supplies Including one year of such lead responsibilities as assigning, reviewing and approving the work of stores personnel.
OR
NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of the methods of receiving, storing and issuing large quantities of supplies, materials and equipment.
Knowledge of the installation and maintenance of inventory control records.
Ability to utilize standard business computer software programs and the internet to perform routine research and to enter and maintain inventory and distribution of records.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with vendors, City agency personnel and associates.
Supervisory ability.
