The Project Delivery Leader is primarily responsible for the successful delivery of projects for the assigned group.
This includes responsibility for multiple client portfolios.
Responsible for identifying independent leaders to perform QA check-ins with clients.
Works closely with Managers, Accounting/Finance, Marketing on project reviews and guides successful project delivery.
Coordinate with teaming partner leaders to carry out strategic initiatives and work sharing.
As a Project Delivery Leader for our Survey group you will provide management assistance, guidance, leadership and quality assurance/quality control to our Plats and Surveys group, based out of Baltimore, MD.
This group provides land surveying, mapping and other related services for transportation, environmental, utilities, and institution/developer projects.
You will be responsible for managing and scheduling survey field crews directly or through party chiefs, working closely with marketing and other discipline lead managers on contract and task proposals, performance of land surveys, boundary determination, computation, , plat development and topographic surveys.
The ideal candidate for this position must be a Registered Land Surveyor with experience in client delivery, business development, and mentorship.
Essential Functions: Lead and manage contracts, tasks and staff in the Survey group consisting of Managers/Project Managers, Party Chiefs, Surveyors, Instrument Operators, Technicians and other field staff Develop and implement strategic plans and goals for the group that align with RK&K objectives and meet our rigorous QA standards Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless coordination and successful project delivery Manage client relationships and serve as primary point of contact for surveying services related to transportation design/construction projects ensuring exceptional client satisfaction and fostering long-term partnerships Serve as Project Manager on more complex projects as needed Identify and pursue business development opportunities including the acquisition of new clients and the expansion of services to existing clients Monitor project budgets, schedules, resources regularly Stay up to date on industry trends, advancements and industry best practices in the field of plats and surveys Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the Survey group, encouraging innovation, efficiency, and professional development Required Education, Skills and Experience: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction or related field Registered Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire Minimum fifteen (15) years of professional experience in surveying with at least five (5) of those years managing personnel and large scale projects Proven experience in business development, including client acquisition and expanding services, particularly to transportation and land development agencies Strong track record of delivering high-quality results for surveying services on mid-large transportation related projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients and internal/external teams Proven project management expertise, including budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, utilization, risk management In depth knowledge of land surveying laws, regulations, and industry standards Other Duties: Please note this position description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position.
