SUMMARY
The Assistant Director for Real Estate and Development supports all new housing development initiatives under the supervision of the Senior Director, Real Estate and Development.
Also supports the management of all SVDP commercial properties, including building assessments, capital planning, lease management, property acquisition, and project management for major renovation and new construction projects.
PRIMARY DUTIES
Housing Development:
Property Identification and Acquisition: Supports the identification of properties or sites for renovation or development and related contracting, due diligence, and closing activities.
Project Management: Supports acquisition and renovation/construction for all projects, including identifying, contracting, coordinating, and working with external development partners such as architects, general contractors, attorneys, government agencies, financing partners, and funders.
Provides support with a high level of communication both internally and externally.
Community Outreach: Supports community and stakeholder outreach, working with community leaders, government agencies, and neighborhood associations where projects are located.
Property Management: Supports oversight of property management partner to establish and maintain policies and process for lease-up and ongoing tenancy, and to create and maintain standards for ongoing property maintenance.
Service Coordination: Supports coordination of ongoing tenant services (both SVDP and third-party).
Real Estate Management:
Project Management: Supports acquisition and major renovations and improvements for SVDP commercial properties, oversight of general contractors, and management support from inception to completion for projects, with a high level of communication both internally and externally.
SECONDARY DUTIES
Property Profiles: Works collaboratively with Director of Facilities, works to create and maintain property profile information in a database for all SVDP facilities, including detailed property information and lease provisions.
Data and Reporting: Supports the collection and reporting of real-time data for both SVDP property management and housing developments.
Committees: Serves on various SVDP committees as needed.
Supports response to major facility related emergencies, when needed.
Participates in staff meetings and other meetings as requested.

Other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or related fields required.
Demonstrated interest and experience in real estate property management, residential renovation construction, and real estate development.
Be available to respond to facilities related emergencies when needed.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
Must have proficiency of reading and writing of the English language.
Ability to relate in a courteous, non-judgmental manner with persons from all ethnic, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds.
Maintain a valid drivers’ license and reliable transportation
Required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
Own and know how to operate a smartphone capable of receiving text messages
