Introduction The Maryland Department of Labor is accepting applications from qualified candidates for the position of Administrator II.
This skilled position serves as the Leasing Manager for the Department of Labor.
Administrator II encompasses the full performance to second line managerial levels of administrative staff work related to the administration of departmental policy and overseeing or coordinating agency operations or functioning as a special assistant to an executive.
Employees engaged in overseeing or coordinating agency operations are responsible for planning, organizing, implementing, administering and supervising the interpretation and application of agency policies, directives and procedures designed to accomplish the mission of the agency.

Eutaw Street Baltimore, MD 21201 Main Purpose of Job The main purpose of this position is to provide upper-level administrative support to the Director and Deputy Director of the Office of General Services (OGS) within Labor with particular emphasis on managing projects for the Leasing Department.
This includes but not limited to office relocations and space planning activities.
This position relates to the agency’s mission in that it provides consistent and dependable support for the programs of the agency.
POSITION DUTIES Duties of this position include but are not limited to: Monitors all departmental BUILDING AND PARKING LEASES for field office space, including working with the Department of General Services Real Estate Division, landlord and field staff to ensure the acquisition of new or renewal leases, as appropriate, at most cost-effective rate.
Assist on preparation of necessary documents for new space and lease renewals, and updates of leased property rental rates.
Monitors all field office repairs to ensure the minimum disruption to operations and staff, to ensure that such repairs are made in a timely manner and to ensure that costs are properly allocated between the landlord and the department.
Assist in preparation of preliminary floor plans for vacant space determination as required, showing the location of offices and cubicles in the designated area and submits summary space reports and updates as required.
Supports overseeing the moves of departments within the agency, act as a liaison between the contractors and the departments and OGS (Director and Deputy Director).
Acts as a liaison between the Telecommunications group and the data group as related to construction and renovations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Five years of administrative staff or professional work.

Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university for the required experience.

Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policy, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for- year basis for the required experience.
