The Large Format Print Shop Manager and Operator encompasses managing and executing the daily operations of our large format print shop, ensuring quality output, and maintaining a smooth production workflow.
Essential functions may include, but are not limited to: Manage production process, including pre-press preparation, printing, finishing, quality control and packaging.
Use large format printing software, RIP software, color management, and pre-press preparation including Adobe Illustrator and CAD.
Use various printing technologies such as flatbed printing, latex, lamination, plotting and routing.
Collaborate with designers, clients, and other team members to ensure print specifications are met, and final products meet or exceed customer expectations.
Collaborate with our Scenic Department to derive solutions that work with any custom print needs in conjunction with scenic builds.
Schedule and prioritize jobs to optimize production efficiency and meet deadlines.
Maintain and troubleshoot large format printers, cutters, laminators, and other equipment to ensure consistent and high-quality output.
Coordinate with technical support for any necessary repairs or maintenance.
Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure accurate color reproduction, precise cutting, and overall print quality.
Conduct regular inspections of finished products to identify and address any defects or inconsistencies.
Manage inventory levels of printing materials, inks, substrates, and other supplies.
Place orders for necessary materials and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
Collaborate with team members and clients to discuss project specifications, offer technical advice, and address any concerns or questions.
Maintain excellent communication throughout the production process to manage expectations and provide updates.
Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and improve overall efficiency within the print production process.
Implement best practices and stay updated on industry trends and advancements.
Troubleshoot equipment issues, diagnose problems, and make informed decisions quickly.
Other duties and tasks may be assigned to meet business needs.
Base Salary Range: $66,161/yr - $98,046/yr This represents the low and high end of the company's base salary range for this position.
Actual base salary range may vary based on various factors, including but not limited to experience.
