Must have the ability to be onsite 12 hours weekly (split between onsite at the client's site or home visits)
Job Description:
The duties of the position include serving as a consultant to child welfare casework staff regarding various medical conditions that may be present in children and/or adults receiving services through the Agency.
Responsibilities include:
Being available to casework staff to answer questions and provide medical information;
Attending staffing and/or Family Involvement Meetings;
Accompanying caseworkers on home visits, visits with children and youth in hospitals, foster homes, group homes, Residential Treatment Centers, and Rehabilitation centers to assess medical needs and support the child or adult to ensure their medical needs are met;
Writing reports or letters regarding the medical needs of children and adults;
Coordination of first-aid training for staff and resource home providers; and
Maintain and monitor the upkeep of the first aid kits and AED machines in various offices.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Nursing Degree from an Accredited Program.
5 years of work experience working in a community or school-based setting with children and families.
Current license in good standing with the Maryland State Board of Nursing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Working with adults and children with chronic healthcare needs;
Navigating various health care and insurance systems;
Working with children who are medically fragile;
Conducting home-based or field-based service delivery.
