Summary
JOB SUMMARY:
Provides supported employment services, including job placement, coaching, conducting vocational groups, and on-going support to individuals in our Mobile Treatment/ACT program.
This is a community-based position that requires approximately 80% of duties to be completed in the community.
Assists in developing appropriate employment opportunities based upon individual preference, ability and need.
Assesses individual’s abilities, needs and progress in reaching stated goals and objectives.
Develops and reviews Individual Plan to meet individuals stated employment goals.
Develops relationships with businesses to maximize opportunities for individuals.
Facilitates relationships with families, community providers, and employers to resolve problems, clarify issues, and promote/assist individuals in meeting their goals.
Networks with employers/co-workers to promote individuals’ integration and independence on the job; and provides disability awareness training as necessary.
Responsible for maintenance of individuals’ files including documentation of progress, health/safety issues, and liaison activities to meet agency and accreditation/licensing requirements.
Is familiar with, and assists individuals with understanding how employment affects their entitlements.
Takes feedback from employers regarding client performance and shares feedback in a constructive way with clients to help improve their overall job performance.
Conducts vocational informational groups related to client benefits, and conducts monthly employment-related peer support groups.
REQUIREMENTS:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in human services and one year experience and/or training in rehabilitation counseling, case management or supported employment, or other human services related fields.
Past Vocational training or Supported Employment experience preferred.
An active Maryland Driver’s License with two points or less.
Active CPR certification through the American Heart Association.
