Patient Representative- Adult Emergency Department

Position Summary: Under general supervision, provides supportive services to patients and families.
Provides information regarding patient information, hospital services, policies, and procedures.
Offers emotional support to families of patients in crisis.
Education/Experience: High school diploma or equivalent.
At least two years of experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
Requires knowledge of general policies and procedures of patient representative program generally acquired through three to six months of experience on this job or equivalent.
Knowledge/Skills: Requires knowledge of general policies and procedures of patient representative program generally acquired through three to six months of experience on this job or equivalent.
Some analytical ability is required to investigate patient complaints and prepare reports.
Substantial interpersonal skills are needed to interact with patients, families, and medical staff frequently and to comfort patients’ families, and advanced communication skills.
