The Community Health Worker will lead efforts to outreach to the West Baltimore Community with the goals of engaging residents about their needs and available services to them, especially those provided by Bon Secours Community Works.
The role will play a crucial role in identifying, engaging, and enrolling prospective participants services provided by Bon Secours Community Works and other community partners.
The role will have trusting community relationships and will be well known as a resource to neighborhood residents.
Essential Job Functions
Conduct program outreach and recruitment for Bon Secours Community Works’ programs.
Participate in outreach, recruitment, and engagement activities in the community.
Develop and implement outreach strategies to effectively communicate the benefits of our programs to individuals and community organizations.
Represent the program at various events, job fairs, and community gatherings to engage with potential candidates and generate interest.
Screen and assess potential candidates to determine their eligibility for the program based on established criteria and guidelines.
Conduct informational sessions and workshops to provide potential participants with a clear understanding of the program's objectives, curriculum, and potential career pathways.
Work closely with program managers to manage the application process, ensuring that all required documents are collected and processed efficiently.
Develop and maintain a working relationship with community partners that will support the success of our program participants.
Educate staff in relevant resource agencies and organizations
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of outreach efforts, applicant data, and program enrollment statistics.
Generate regular reports on recruitment progress, outcomes, and trends to inform program improvement strategies.
Implement strategies to remove barriers and improve accessibility for individuals facing challenges in accessing services.
Provide feedback to the program managers to foster collaborative relationships with organizations and service providers aimed at sharing resources.
Education Qualifications
Required Minimum Education:
High School Diploma/GED or relevant experience and/or certification
Minimum Qualifications
Minimum Years and Type of Experience
1-2 years professional experience in recruitment and outreach in underserved or low income populations.
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Organizational skills, record keeping skills, and time management skills

Proficiency in oral presentations, writing skills, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective verbal, oral presentation, and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills necessary to develop and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
