Physician duties and responsibilities:
* Providing primary care directly to patients and indirectly by working Nurse Practitioners, Physician Assistants, and other members of an interdisciplinary team to formulate treatment plans
* Participating in community outreach, patient education, and prevention programs
* Maintaining patient files, encountering information, correspondence, clinical data, and other information in a confidential and careful manner
* Sharing in the general care and maintenance of clinical areas such as waiting rooms, stock rooms, preoperative rooms, and postoperative rooms
* Examining the health of a patient to help make proper diagnoses of clinical conditions and prescribing medication, treatments, and follow-up care as required
* Educating, advising, and empowering patients on preventive healthcare and disease prevention
* Participating in ongoing learning to help formulate innovative, predictive, and preventive diagnostic or wellness programs
* Recording and properly filing all patient documentation

* Ability to administer and develop treatment plans and programs
* Ability to interact and collaborate respectfully with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
* Good standing with the College of Physicians and Surgeons Association of their province or territory
* Strong drive for improving and working on professional development
* Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
* Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
* Knowledge of Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
