Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Information Technology (IT) Junior Support Specialist position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals.
As the IT support specialist, you must be able to assess and troubleshoot computer support problems and apply an understanding of computer software and hardware products and services to resolve the problems of users.
The position aids users and organizations using computer software or equipment and will accurately diagnose problems and guide users through problem resolution.
The specialist will set up, image or repair computer equipment and related devices, train users to use new computer hardware or software, including printing, installation, word processing, and email.
In addition, you will respond to phone, web, fax, and email requests for assistance using remote tools and automated trouble ticketing system and make site visits to provide touch labor.
The specialist will provide technical assistance to computer users, answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, or via telephone or electronically and provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems.
Job Requirements: Skills / Experience Required Complete the Network Enterprise Supported Command Integration Program (SCIP) hosted by the Network Enterprise Center (NEC) to receive elevated rights Obtain and maintain elevated rights including remote accessing employee computers Image computers and update computers with required post image software and updates Work the help desk and aid employees with a range of IT related issues Answering requests for aid via phone, MS Teams, email, VPN, Contracting Systems) in person Troubleshoot printers Physically and remotely troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues Provide users with hardware (Track and notify Logistics (G4) contractors will not assign Hardware equipment Submit IT Tickets to NEC and/or elevate/submit tickets to AESD, DISA or others depending upon the type of issue Swap out or change employee computers including data transfers and setup computers Education / Certifications High School diploma 1-2+ years in an IT/help desk role or within customer service Background Investigation Requirement: National Agency Check with Local Agency and Credit Checks (ANACI) Possess certification following DoD 8570.
1 (1) Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level 2 certification, AND (2) Information Assurance Manager (IAM) Level 1 Certification.
