General Summary of Position This is for a Full time New Graduate RN position Unit Description: Welcome to Medstar Good Samaritan Hospital.
The Emergency Department (ED) consist of 34 beds, 25 main ED beds and 9 Flex Care Beds.
Medstar Good Samaritan ED see’s approximately 48,000 patients annually and serves as a primary stroke center.
The nurse to patient ratio is 4:1 and there are many RNs available to act as a resource for ED staff.

As a new graduate nurse with MedStar Health, you will participate in the year-long New to Practice Nurse Residency Program, offered at all 10 of our hospitals.

Do I need to be licensed to apply? No.
We offer new graduates the option to begin in the Graduate Nurse (GN) position or the Clinical Nurse I position.
-A Graduate Nurse (GN) is a recent nursing school graduate who will work in an unlicensed position, prior to taking the NCLEX exam.
The GN is responsible for the provision of nursing care under the direction and supervision of a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
-A Clinical Nurse I is a recent nursing school graduate who has successfully passed the NCLEX exam.
As a licensed professional care provider, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the nursing care of patients from admission through discharge.
