Drug and Alcohol Counselor

Responsibilities: - Conduct diagnostic evaluations and assessments to determine the mental health needs of patients - Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients based on assessment results - Provide ongoing case management and coordination of care for patients - Deliver patient care through individual counseling sessions, group therapy, and family counseling - Utilize crisis management techniques to address immediate mental health concerns - Apply evidence-based therapeutic techniques such as behavioral therapy and motivational interviewing - Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for patients Qualifications: - Degree in Counseling, Psychology, or related field - Valid state CAC-AD licensure or higher - Proven experience in mental health counseling and clinical counseling techniques - Strong knowledge of diagnostic evaluation methods and patient assessment tools - Ability to provide effective crisis management and intervention strategies - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with diverse patient populations - Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team Skills: - Diagnostic evaluation - Case management - Patient care - Crisis management - Mental health counseling - Motivational interviewing - Patient assessment - Behavioral therapy - Clinical counseling - Veterans counseling Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
