Responsibilities:
Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
• Assists in the management of team of Residential Counselors including scheduling and employee management.
• Supervises children in activities in order to observe or effect changes in their social behavior.
• Completes shift documentation including but not limited to residential case notes, incident reports, and resident inventory.
• Observes methods and techniques of clinical staff and participates in treatment of children through interaction, limit setting, and implementation of treatment plans.
• Promotes professionalism with counseling staff ensuring dress code, appropriate staff-resident interactions, etc.
• Escorts children to groups, interviews, meetings, mealtime, recreation, education activities, medical appointments, and participates in supervision and instruction.
• Maintains age-appropriate rules and enforces the behavior management system, including the proper conduct of children during work, recreation, and education activities.
• Trains and models skill sets to Residential Counselors.
• Supervises the administration of medication and documents medication administration, as ordered.
• Works to promote pro-social behavior by residents and prevent negative behaviors.
• Maintains professional boundaries between self and residents to ensure appropriateness in the working relationship.
• Provides crisis intervention as needed.
• Communicates all appropriate information internally and externally to facilitate the treatment of the resident.
• Attends trainings and meetings as required.
• Shares/transmits the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff and to clients and families served.
• Teaches rules, manners, policies for interpersonal relationships, and personal care.
• Review client files on a Periodic basis for the completeness and accuracy of residential documentation.
• Review client files on a quarterly basis to access service plan implementation, progress towards desired outcomes, and future appropriateness of service plan.
• Perform all duties within contract, state and federal regulations, Arrow policy, and COA standards.
• May be required to drive ACFM vehicles, be insurable with our auto insurance provider, and complete Arrow’s vehicle training.
Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED and at least three (3) years’ experience working with children and families preferably in the child welfare industry or a combination of bachelor’s degree and less than three (3) years relevant experience.
