We Will Train Applicants With The Necessary Educational Background! Position Summary: Conducts environmental site assessments and other real property-related services to identify ASTM recognized environmental conditions (RECs) and other areas of environmental concern in accordance with ASTM standard practices and client-required scopes of work.
Discusses and evaluates all potential RECs with Sr.
Project Managers daily and develops written reports concisely and competently describing their findings, e.
g.
the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment.
Position Results Description: Completes 6 to 8 ASTM Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, Transaction Screens, or related projects per month to identify recognized environmental conditions (RECs) and other areas of concern (AOCs) to include described ASTM “non-scope” conditions.
Maintains and delivers a project file for each property for both electronic and physical storage and archiving.
Interviews property owners, occupants, ASTM-described key site personnel for specialized site knowledge and local government officials to obtain relevant information and data on the subject property, adjacent properties, and any nearby properties of potential concern.
Performs surveys for the presence of lead-based paint, asbestos, radon, mold, and lead in drinking water.
Screenings may include collection and delivery of samples (Federated Environmental provides training in these areas as needed).
Develops Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and other reports that adhere and comply with any defined client scope requirements and which clearly describe the environmental assessment and provide exhibits which meaningfully illustrate information presented in the report text.
Provides photographic documentation of the subject property for inclusion in the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment or other survey or testing report.
Maintains daily communications with Sr.
Project Managers and the client representatives to keep apprised of any changes in the work flow, communications, or project changes.
Reviews earlier environmental assessment reports, historical and regulatory records, and building department records and permits for the subject property and for the surrounding area and reports data in accordance with ASTM standard practices and the client’s required work scope.
Project Managers is are fully required to exhaustively identify the historical site use of the subject property and surrounding properties.
Knowledgeable of federal, state and local environmental requirements and guidelines as they pertain to the firm’s environmental services, and advises the Sr.
Technical Staff of any relevant changes in legislation.
Approximately 30% to 40% of projects will require air travel to the subject property.
Many projects require significant travel by automobile.
Enhances professional and technical knowledge by reviewing professional publications, attending certification and licensure training sessions, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies such as ASTM, GSA, AIPG, and others.
Staff members with geology degrees are required to actively pursue their Professional Geologist (P.
G.
) licenses either with AIPG or states of choice.
Project managers are required to maintain strict confidentiality on client matters and Federated Environmental’s information, products, services, and procedures.
Delivers exceptional, responsive customer service and proactive solutions to clients needs.
Due dates are critically important and will be used to monitor job performance.
Complies with documented policies and standard operating procedures applicable to the position and support of Federated Environmental’s quality standards.
Completes work and comports self in a professional, ethical, and responsible manner.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s of Science (B.

) degree from fully accredited four-year college or university in geology, biology, environmental science, earth science, agriculture, physics, chemistry, engineering or any of the natural sciences.

Of course, Federated Environmental will consider any applicant with actual experience in performing environmental assessment work.
For those applicants without actual Phase I Environmental Site Assessment experience, the company will provide needed training.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: AHERA Asbestos Inspector Certification and OSHA-40 hour certification preferred but will be provided if needed plus a valid driver’s license and a personal credit card with available credit to charge up to $1,500.

Other Helpful Qualifications: Superior verbal and written communications skills, time-management skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a challenging work environment.
Excellent computer skills; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and some basic AutoCAD (basic AutoCAD training provided if needed).
