Essential Functions:
The Maryland Judiciary is now hiring for summer help in District Court for Harford County.
Positions will generally last 90 days, but the assignment may end early depending on the needs of the court.
Duties vary but may include the following: stripping, duplicating and archiving files; filing documents and retrieving files for employees and customers; data entry; making copies, scanning documents, or creating packets; opening, stamping and distributing mail; greeting and assisting customers in person or on the phone by providing them with forms, brochures, or basic instructions; assisting case processing clerks in basic duties; legal research (College Students, College Graduates or Law Students only); and other related duties as assigned.
Education:
High school student with applicable documentation authorizing to work in the State of Maryland, e.
g.
, Work Permit.
Some college preferred.
Experience:
Applicants need not have job related experience, but previous experience in general office environment and/or retail is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to file using alpha and numeric filing systems and to sort, process, verify, proofread and file miscellaneous reports and documents.
Ability to operate office equipment such as a computer, printer, photocopier, scanner, telephone or fax machine.
Ability to communicate effectively with the public and court personnel.
Ability to understand and follow instructions.
Ability to sit for long periods and lift or move boxes weighing approximately 25 pounds.
Ability to perform all essential functions of this position.
