Baby grand piano with bench.
Davenport-Tracy of New York.
Beautiful cabinet in very good condition, no alligatoring on the finish.
Full disclosure as best I can offer.
This piano has been in the family at least 40 years.
Beyond that we have no information about its history.
Been a long time since it was tuned.
Sounds out of tune, but a piano tuner I spoke with suggested that often, even a piano that’s out of tune, isn’t really that far off key.
The other detail I researched was the maker.
Some local experts suggested that since this piano company, Davenport-Treacy has been out of business since about WWII, the piano is 80+ years old.
This started out as a mid-range quality instrument.
The clean finish on the cabinet maybe suggests only eighty years old and not much more, but that’s a guess.
Free to a good home.
I can offer no personal help moving it, but I can refer you to experienced, professional piano movers that I have used to bring a piano into my own home.
(Piano is in the home of a friend near the Loch Raven reservoir on the west side of the Glen Arm area, off of manor rd.
)
Piano is ten feet from the entry door.
One step down to a large front landing, one more step to a cement sidewalk.
Thirty feet on the sidewalk to the driveway, level ground all the way.
