00 USD Annually EDUCATION ACCREDITATION: Applicant’s education must be obtained from an accredited institution.

ELIGIBILITY: Qualified candidates will be considered for vacancies as they arise, for a period of at least six months.
The decision of the Director of Human Resources with respect to acceptable minimum qualifications is final.
CRIMINAL BACKGROUND CHECK: Eligible candidates under final consideration for appointment to this position identified as positions of trust will be required to authorize the release of and successfully complete a Fingerprint check.
PROBATION: All persons, including current City employees, selected from this position will be on probation for 6 months.
CLASS DESCRIPTION Operations Specialist I encompass professional and analytical work requiring regular use of independent judgment in the practical application of management principles and techniques to improve operational activities in accordance with agency laws and policies.

) Conducts complex studies and analyses of operations, programs, organizations, and procedures.
Prepares complex final reports, recommendations, and other informational resources for the improvement of an organizational element or its program.
Liaises with the program and other internal or external persons to maintain communication channels.
Collects, compiles, and organizes complex data pertinent to various ongoing studies.
Conducts complex studies and analyses of work processes and systems.
Consults with supervisor and/or management on policies, trends, and interpretation of operational needs.
Serves, as requested, as a work lead for less-experienced incumbents in this classification series.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS On or before the date of filing the application, each candidate must: EDUCATION: Have an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university.
AND EXPERIENCE: Have five (5) years of experience performing complex analytical support for an operational, technical, or administrative function.
OR NOTES (EQUIVALENCIES): Have an equivalent combination of education and experience.
KNOWLEDGES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Thorough knowledge of English usage.
Thorough knowledge of reference and research methods and techniques used in collecting, compiling, and organizing data.
Thorough knowledge of moderately complex analytical principles and techniques.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present reports.
Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and the public.
Demonstrated ability to explain an agency’s purpose, programs, and operations.
Demonstrated ability to collect, compile, edit, classify, and tabulate statistical and qualitative data.
Demonstrated ability to prepare and present ideas and information clearly yet concisely.
