Summary: The Food Service Utility Worker will assist the manager/assistant manager on duty with food serving operations and overall cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen & dining areas.
One year experience in the food industry.
High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Understands vital food and safety habits.
Experience in commercial cleaning and dishwashing.
Knowledge of essential kitchen terminology.
Must have reliable transportation.
Background check required by contract.
Drug Screening required.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
18 years of age or older.
Certified ServSafe preferred, but not required.
Service-minded and team-oriented & strong attention to detail.
Must be able to accurately follow instructions.
Assists with setting up food on serving lines and serves meals and drinks.
Assists in the preparation of food.
Keeps all kitchen and dining facility clean, sinks, stoves, walk-in refrigerators, freezers, dry storage, walls, windows clean and sanitized.
Sweeps and mops floors at the beginning and ending of shifts or as often as needed.
Cleans dining tables after each meal rotation.
Ensures basic cleaning tasks are carried out as quickly as possible to avoid hindering operations.
Washes cookware, utensils, cutlery, dinnerware, and silverware scraping, brushing & spraying everything before placing in dishwasher as fast as possible to keep them in rotation.
Assures compliance with all sanitation and safety requirements.
Empties grease buckets, removes trash, and breaks down/ removes cardboard no less than at the end of every night.
Helps receive and put away orders/ vendor deliveries.
Arranges equipment and ingredient deliveries.
Maintains the food and supply storage areas clean and organized.
Packages and labels foods and meals as needed.
Can perform facility opening and closing procedures.
Other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions: Must be able to stand on feet throughout the shift, with intermittent periods of walking.
Must be able to occasionally lift, carry, push and pull up to 50+lbs with assistance.
Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, walk on uneven surfaces on an occasional basis.
Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and holidays.

Agency/Team Cohesion Maintain communication with team members and management regarding team and clients’ needs.
Participate in departmental team meetings.
To maintain continuity, 2 weeks’ notice must be given upon resignation.

Other duties as assigned.
