If you are a collector of telephone or telegraph memorabilia here is a rare wooden telegraph staff and porcelain insulator circa.
1896.
The staff was attached to the telegraph pole by two bolts.
Found in a ditch along side of railroad tracks in Northern California in 1996, it was unearthed when the line was being dismantled.
This is an authentic piece of communication history and will be a welcome piece to your collection.
See the pictures and note the way the insulator was attached to the staff by screw mount cut directly into the wood.
