The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking a Fiber Coordinator (Administrator IV) in the Office of Transportation Technology Services.
The main function of this position is to coordinate fiber activities with MDOT customers, subcontractors, state and local officials, fiber providers, and upper-level management.
This position will be responsible for cable plant fiber installations and repairs performed by third-party contractors to ensure timely and quality services in the best interest of MDOT.
The Fiber Coordinator will develop statements of work, material estimates, labor cost estimates as well as maintain as-built documentation, fiber plant diagrams, and resource allocation documentation.
Additionally, the Fiber Coordinator will be responsible for managing orders, handling customer service requests, and coordinating installations.
The current vacancy exists at the MDOT TSO in the Office of Transportation Technology Services (OTTS) located in Hanover, MD (Anne Arundel County).

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Education: Graduation from an accredited high school or possession of a high school equivalency certificate.
Experience: Six years of experience in administrative staff or professional work.
Candidates with Building Industry Consulting Service International (BISCI) Certification and/or a geographic information systems professional (GISP) Certification are preferred.

Candidates may substitute 30 credit hours from an accredited college or university for each year up to four years of the required experience.

Candidates may substitute the possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and two years of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

Candidates may substitute the possession of a Master's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of experience in administrative staff or professional work for the required experience.

Armed Forces military service experience involving staff work related to the administration of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and processes, or overseeing or coordinating unit operations or functioning as a staff assistant to a higher ranking commissioned officer on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

BISCI Certification and/or GISP Certification is preferred.
