SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Med-Check Therapist will provide the initial quality services to assigned clients in compliance with agency policies, COMAR standards, and all state and federal regulations.
Sessions will take place before clients are assigned a Therapist/Clinician with the agency.
The specific responsibilities of the position of Med-Check Therapist include the following:
Provide clinical, therapeutic services to individual clients and families that include individual and family therapy, crisis intervention, advocacy, and other therapeutic services and interventions as needed
Be a part of a multidisciplinary process, including collaboration with therapeutic and psychiatric staff, administrative staff, counselors, etc.
to share relevant therapeutic related to clients assessed and seen for services
Adequately manage a schedule of clients, and work within specific timeframes of times for sessions according to the schedule with agency prescribers
Complete any prescreening questions and relay necessary information to prescribers, the therapeutic team, admin staff, etc.
Effectively use all platforms in place for efficient client care (ie: telehealth platforms, EMR, etc.
)
Timely and satisfactory documentation of all treatment efforts and progress which adheres to standards and regulations as set forth by the agency, the respective licensing board and COMAR.
Abide by all safety rules and regulations of the agency and facility
Maintain ethical standards per their licensure and for performing services in a professional manner that is congruent with the mission and values of the agency
Perform duties as needed in accordance with achieving agency goals and maintaining quality standards.
All other duties as assigned
SUPERVISION AND COORDINATION OF SERVICES:
The Med-Check Therapist reports directly to the Medical Director.
The Med-Check Therapist will also collaborate with other professionals and care providers through interdisciplinary teamwork.
The Med-Check Therapist adheres to ethics of their respective profession.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Maintain professional license in the state of MD to provide therapy services
Experience in working with and/or the ability and knowledge to provide comprehensive services to the population with which they are assigned to work
Knowledge of psychiatric diagnoses as defined by the American Psychiatric Association, assessment, human development, individual therapy, group therapy, and family therapy
Competency in treatment planning, advocacy, and clinical skills
Ability to function on an interdisciplinary treatment team through
Excellent written, interpersonal, and oral communication skills
Sensitivity to and understanding of cultural diversity and special needs populations
Mental Health Professional licensed by the state of Maryland
Experience as required by the credentialing process
